McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
-
The School District of Marshfield makes every effort to identify and provide services and referrals for any family or student experiencing homelessness as defined by McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act defines homeless children and youths as those who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This definition also includes children and youth who are living in transition or sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason.
The School District of Marshfield will strive to remove barriers to education and graduation, and will assist families and youth to meet basic needs. Please refer to the McKinney-Vento brochure for further information about eligibility and rights.
If you believe you or your family would qualify under the McKinney-Vento Act, please contact your School Counselor.
