MMS General Information 2023-2024
Below are a couple of important reminders for the 2023/2024 school year:
1.) Morning drop-off procedures: If your student is not a bus rider, please try to drop your student off at MMS slightly before 7:30am each day at the Door 2 Palmetto Avenue main entrance. We will have students wait outside until 7:37am each day, at which time the doors will open, and students will enter the building and go to their lockers. First hour starts at 7:45am. On inclement weather days, students will be allowed to enter the cafeteria and stay there until 7:37am each day. School breakfast eaters will be allowed in the building each day starting at 7:30am and should report to the cafeteria.
2.) Please be sure to check Skyward Family Access to ensure your family contact information is correct. You can also check Fee Management in Skyward to ensure all fees are paid.
3.) School Supplies: Click HERE for Grade 7 school supply list and click HERE for Grade 8 school supply list.
4.) Skyward Gradebook: Our MMS teaching staff will make every effort possible to have Skyward Family Access Gradebook updated each Tuesday by 12:00pm. Please understand this will not always be possible depending on when certain assessments are assigned and collected; however, this is our building-wide goal. The purpose of this building-wide goal is to keep parents, guardians, and students abreast of academic progress in a timely manner.
5.) Dress Code: Please review our MMS Dress Code on page 14 in the assignment notebook. Also, hats and hoods will not be allowed during the school day for this school year.

OPTIONAL Academic Support Programs 2023-2024
Below is some information regarding two OPTIONAL academic support programs we are excited to offer to ALL Marshfield Middle School students:
1.) Tutoring & More is a program offered to Marshfield Middle School students interested in after-school tutoring, homework help, study time, or simply a place to complete school activities before returning home in the evening. “Tutoring & More” is not intended to serve as direct instruction. Instead, this is a place for students to focus on an academic task with assistance from a certified Marshfield Middle School educator. “Tutoring & More” is open to students each Monday through Thursday from 3:05 - 4:05pm in Room 201. This program is free of charge and a snack is provided each day. Students are able to attend as they or as their parent/guardian choose. Please click on one of the following links to learn more about the After-School Tutoring & More program:

Tutoring & More Brochure in Spanish
2.) Paper: “Paper” tutoring is an educational support system that provides MMS students 24 hours a day/7 days a week live help, essay review, and real time/real teacher feedback and homework help. “Paper” tutors are highly qualified and certified educators who assist students with classroom assignments and concepts. The program is designed to support students after school hours when MMS teachers are not readily available. Many times, this is in the evenings, during the weekend, or following an after-school extracurricular activity. “Paper” tutors are free to students and parents in the School District of Marshfield. Students can access Paper Tutoring on their iPad thru "My Apps".

Principal's Welcome
-
Greetings, Tiger family!
Welcome to the school year. It is my humble honor to serve the students, staff, families, and community in my role as Marshfield Middle School Principal. Our talented and dedicated faculty is committed to the whole child as we work together to provide our students with the best education possible. We are also focused on supporting your child socially and emotionally as we emphasize our core values of respect, honesty, and responsibility.
In the two-year middle school experience, we are committed to smooth and seamless transitions as 7th graders enter our building on their first day and as 8th graders leave our building to go to the high school. My hope as principal is to foster an environment where students push themselves to be the very best they can be in this critical developmental stage of adolescence.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything you would like to discuss as we work together to provide the best two-year middle school experience your child can possibly have here at Marshfield Middle School.
Sincerely,
Matt Biederwolf

Marshfield Middle School is a special and unique community of learners which I am proud to be a part of.
The middle school years are important and critical times for students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development. My goal as Assistant Principal is to provide leadership that will facilitate a school environment that is safe and respectable, for your child to receive the best possible academic instruction. I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow both academically and socially. We value honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Feel free to stop in and say hello. My door is always open. If there is anything I can assist you with, please let me know.
