MHS Seniors Named 2025 National Merit Semifinalists

Alexa Schoen and Evan Weigel have been named 2025 National Merit Semifinalists.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.3 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.  The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of the U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.  These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $26 million that will be offered next spring.
