• Earliest Arrival: 7:30 AM - Supervision begins

• Building Entry:
  • 7:30 AM - Students eating breakfast
  • 7:40 AM - All other students
    • Before students wait on the playground or the front of the building, at 7:40 AM student may enters the building

• Attendance Taken: 7:55 AM

For student safety, please do not drop off students before 7:30 AM, as supervision is not available.

Drop-Off Time: 

• Washington doors open at 7:30 AM each day. 

Drop-Off Procedures/Locations:

• Grades 4K: Enter through the front door. A teacher will be present at 7:40 AM.
• Grades K-6: 
  • 7:30 AM
    • Students who need breakfast go to the Gym.
    • Students not eating breakfast go to the back playground (supervision is available at 7:30 am).
    • All students may enter the building at 7:40 AM.

Drop off & Parking Procedures for Drivers: 

• Enter school property from 11th Street.
• East Lane (YELLOW) – Use this lane for Parent Parking in front. After parking, adults must use the crosswalk to escort students to and from the front doors.
• West Lane (ORANGE) – Use this lane for Drop-Off/Pick-Up in front of the school.
  • Drivers will loop through the staff parking lot to access the front area.
  • No parking in Fire Lanes.
• Exit school property onto Schmidt St.
• School Buses drop off & pick up students in the designated Bus Zone on Schmidt St.
• Students arriving early for Breakfast enter through the front doors.
  • The West exit is for staff only and is no longer a drop-off area.
  • Students arriving before 7:40 AM will be dropped off in front and must use the sidewalk to reach the playground.
• No parking in RED-designated areas.

Visitor Check-in:

• First week of school: Parents/guardians of students in grades 4K-K may walk child to classroom. 
• After first week: students are expected to enter the building by themselves.

Dismissal Time: 

• Bus students are dismissed to the buses at 2:40 PM
• Pickup/Walking students are dismissed at 2:45 PM each day.
  • Students that walk/bike home or to an alternative location may leave from the back of the school building.

Pickup Procedures:

• Enter from 11th Street and follow the same drop-off lanes.
• Students will wait with their teachers in designated areas:
  • Grades 4K-6: Pickup in front of the school.
  • Early Childhood Program (EC): Pickup in designated EC Pick-Up area.
• Families will pull through the designated pickup areas
  • Staff will call students' name; students will then walk to their vehicles.
• Do not exit your vehicle during pickup.
• Parents may wait in front of the building but should not enter the school for dismissal.
• No parking in RED-designated areas.
• Drivers should not arrive before 2:30 PM for afternoon pick-up unless picking up an Early Childhood Program student. 

Following these procedures helps ensure a smooth and safe dismissal process. 🚗🏫

• Checking In for Late Arrival
  • Upon arrival, enter through the front doors (door 1).
  • Ring the doorbell
  • The secretary will assist with the check-in process.

• Early Dismissal
  • Notify the school in advance via phone, email, or written note stating the reason for early dismissal.
  • Upon arrival, enter through the front doors (door 1), ring the doorbell, and the secretary will contact the student’s classroom.
  • Parents/Guardian/Other Approved Pickups must sign out student.
  • Parents/Guardian/Other Approved Pickups wait in front vestibule for student to arrive.
  • Students will only be released to authorized individuals listed by the parent/guardian.

• Important Notes:
  • Students with medical disabilities requiring assistance must be accompanied when leaving school.
  • No student shall be released to anyone who is not authorized such custody by the parents.

If your child will be absent for a planned reason, such as a family trip, surgery, medical appointments, or college visits, please follow these steps

• Request:
  • Parents must submit a written note informing the school of the absence dates.
  • The note must be signed by the parent, teacher, and principal.

• Review Attendance Policy:
  • Students may be excused for up to 10 days per school year for pre-planned absences.
  • Missed coursework must be completed.

• Common Pre-Planned Absences Include:
  • Medical, dental, or legal appointments that can’t be scheduled outside school hours.
  • Funerals of relatives.
  • College visits or job fairs.
  • Family vacations.

You can submit appointment slips or medical documentation using any of the following methods:

• Drop Off: Bring a paper copy to the school office. If needed, documentation can also be brought in at a later date.
