Pickup and Drop-off Procedures | 2025-2026 School Year
Video Transcript
Hello and welcome Grant Elementary families. We are so excited for the start of the 2025, 2026 school year.
To start with, we wanted to share some important updates with you in regards to how students will be dropped off
and picked up this school year. We will be utilizing the same drop off route as we have in past years.
When parents arrive in the morning, they can enter through the main entrance to the circle drive, and follow the same traffic pattern as has been in the past.
However, due to the construction that's about to occur in the front of the building, will not be able to use the front curb drop off area
that we have in the past. Therefore, we're going to be down one lane of traffic and drop off will occur.
One spot east of where it was before. This new drop off and pickup area is clearly marked with orange stakes
and orange chains. For the safety of our students as the area where they are to exit their vehicles at the beginning
of the day, enter their vehicles. At the end of the day, we ask for students to please exit the driver's side door if at all possible.
Once students are dropped off, they are to proceed to door number three, which is historically where our kindergarten and first grade students have been entering.
This will serve as our main entry for the 20 25 20 26 school year. At the end of the day, for pickup, parents
and family members will utilize the same traffic pattern and proceed to the designated grade level sign where their children or child will be standing.
We’re asking parents and family members to plea. Please pull forward as far as possible when picking up your child
or children, having them enter through the driver’s side door. Also note that your children will be standing next to the sign of the oldest child in your family.
If you have a kindergarten student and a second grade student, they will be standing next to the second grade sign.
Parents and family members are reminded to please make sure to drop off and pick up children only in the pickup area.
The left lane, the right lane is only for exiting. Once students have either been dropped off or picked up,
and we ask parents and family members to please pull as far forward as you can to help speed up, pick a drop off at the beginning
of the day and pick up at the end of the day. One big difference this year is that you’ll notice
that staff are going to need to use our main lot for parking. The old staff parking lot will be utilized
for construction materials and trucks. Therefore, staff will need to park and utilize the main lot. Unfortunately, that means that family members
and parents will not be able to park and walk their children up to the front doors at the beginning
or pick up at the end of the day. We really need families to remain in their car for drop off and pick up
And helping to give parents and family members another option to speed up, drop off in the morning and pick up at the end of the day.
We will, for the first time, be utilizing our bus circle drive as both a drop off and pick up area at the start and the end of the day.
Any families dropping their student off of any age in the bus circle drive must wait until all buses have left the area.
That time is going to be at approximately seven 40 in the morning. Again, seven 40 is a good time where you can bus quickly,
drop your children off in the bus area, and they will proceed to enter into door number four in the back.
After 7 55, all students will need to come to the front area and enter into door. Number three. Upon exiting the bus circle drive,
all drivers must turn right both in the morning and after school so that traffic does not get backed up
In the morning. Any student can be dropped off in that bus area as long as the buses are gone, but after school.
This area is also going to serve as a pickup area for students who are in either grades five, six, or fifth
or sixth graders who have younger siblings. Upon dismissal, fifth and sixth grade, teachers will be escorting their students to the bus circle drive for pickup.
All fifth and sixth grade students will be picked up in this area along with younger siblings. Students will be positioned in an area of their last name,
first initial of their last name, so parents should be watching in this area for where their children will be stationed.
For pickup. Just like the beginning of the day, the end of the day is important that drivers note that they cannot pull into the bus zone area
until all buses are gone from the area. At the end of the day, we anticipate that time to be about 2 45.
Important to note, though, that students will not be dismissed until two 50 For any family members or parents are arriving for pickup at the end of the day
before 2 45. One possible waiting area is for a line to form along Walnut Avenue. Walnut Avenue is located across from the school
and has good visibility to see when the buses depart. However, it’s important to know that walnut is a no parking zone, so you’ll need
to remain in your vehicle while you wait. As mentioned earlier, the main entrance to the building will be door number three.
Anyone wishing to enter the building, drop something off or to pick up a child for an appointment, will need
to enter the building through door Number three. If you need to come to the building during the school day
to pick up your child for an appointment or drop something off, you'll be able to enter into the first set of doors,
just like the main entry from last school year. You'll come into the main door, walk into the vestibule area,
and then hit the buzzer for the secretary To answer, Grant Elementary Families again, we want to welcome you to the 2025 2026 school year on behalf of the staff, we're
so excited for our first day as we go throughout this year, we're hoping that we can count on our grant elementary
families to show flexibility, understanding, and patience during this construction year. We've got great things coming ahead. We acknowledge there's gonna be some changes
and some challenges, but we know that we can do it together. We're building for the future.
