
What is Canvas?
Canvas is Marshfield School District's Learning Management System (LMS) for students in grades 5-12. It allows teachers to manage classroom resources, monitor student progress, provide feedback, and communicate with students, support staff, and parents.
Canvas Parent enhances parents' engagement in their children's education. Parents can:
- View course content, such as assignment due dates and course modules.
- Review upcoming or past assignments.
- Check grades and receive alerts for student activity.
- Customize the experience for each student and family.
Canvas Parent App
The Canvas Parent App is available for both Android and iOS devices and can be used by any Canvas user with an observer account. The app also allows parents to:
- Engage in their student's education in real time.
- View assignments, events, and grades.
- Customize notifications for student activities, such as missing assignments and course announcements.

In Canvas, parents function as observers will have limited permissions, allowing them to see course activities without participating
Notification Overload?

Head to the user icon in Global Navigation, then click on 'Notifications.' From there, customize the frequency and notification types to regain control.
