Students will store Academic and Career Planning (ACP) artifacts in Xello. The advantage of using this platform is that it allows students to access their ACP information wherever they have internet access, and they will update this information from year-to-year. Students are expected to share this information with their counselor, Tiger Time teacher, and parents/guardians. Parents/guardians are an important part of the ACP process. It is recommended they have ongoing discussions with their student about their personal, academic, and post-secondary goals and reach out to school counselors to secure additional guidance if needed.
Here are some suggestions for parents/guardians:
-
Become familiar with the information located under the Academic & Career Planning webpage on the Marshfield School District website. Click on “Families” on the District home page and look for "Academic & Career Planning (ACP)" on the left navigation bar.
- Discuss what subjects your student would like to learn about and what experiences they would like to participate in to develop their ACP.
- Ask your child to share their personal statement, goals, action plan, and academic and career planning activities found in the Xello platform.

We encourage parents and caregivers to reach out to elementary school counselors, middle and high school counselors, and/or high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for more information and/or assistance if needed. These contacts can be found on each school’s website.
