District Nurses

The role of the District Nurse is to utilize the nursing process, clinical expertise, and professional judgment to design and implement health services programs that enable students to gain the maximum benefit from their educational experience. This is achieved through collaboration with students, families, teachers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as by utilizing community resources to address the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students.

 Health Assistants

The primary role of the health assistant is to address students' health needs as they arise in the health office each day. These needs can range from managing illness and injuries to administering daily medication and ensuring individual health care plans are followed.

The health assistant also supports the District Nurse by performing delegated tasks, planning for student health needs during field trips, and communicating with staff and parents about each child’s health requirements.
